Thrift and living within ones means used to be American values.

I have zero sympathy for McConnell. In addition to being an attorney he was a legislator who imposed laws on the average citizen. One of his legislative accomplishments was co sponsoring a law (1994) to abolish parole for those guilty of a felony. He is also a Roman Catholic so he should understand sin in the eyes of God as well as the law.

If he is guilty of crimes, convict him on each account and put him in the general prison population with no chance of parole. The political system is corrupt. It is time to hold politicians fully accountable for violations of the laws they write and impose. Perhaps he should be an example for others.

Yes, it would be nice to see him in jail, and more politicians like him, so they can see first hand how skewed the “justice” system is in favor of those who have enough money to buy their way out.
