As long as the money goes to support, maintain, and operate the museum, then it shouldn’t be a problem.

How else are they going to fund the museum? If it was “free” it would close due to lack of funding. On the other hand, we waste enough money other things so maybe it should be a national museum like the Museum of Nat’l History or the Smithsonian. If our “leaders” weren’t so incompetent I might consider supporting that.

Agreed.
Depending on who’s running it (it IS New York, after all), the money could potentially be funded to “less-than-American” causes...

As long as it’s not nine dollars and eleven cents. THAT would be in bad taste.

I saw the 9-11 exhibit in Albany years ago. They had personal effects that were taken fron the site - just day-to-day things to remind us how the whole world changed on what started out as an average day. There was even a partially crushed fire truck that was salvaged from the wreckage. It was stunning, just stunning. They played tapes from the ground on the day it happened, and to relive those hours was almost traumatic, indeed.

I have mixed feelings about the $24 admission. On the one hand, it seems a bit creepy. The article also states the public will be able to enter at no charge each Tuesday evening. In the end, the market will indicate whether the fee is appropriate.

So then the government would pay for it, and it wouldn’t be free because the taxpayers would be paying for it.

Admission to the Oklahoma City memorial is $12. If you are ever close to OKC. it is well worth the visit. $24 in NYC is the price of a parking spot. Or a coffee and bagel at a good hotel.

I don’t need a museum to remember that awful morning. Every day at work I go out of my way to avoid the many artifacts and displays that commemorate the day and our coworkers who were killed.

How else are they going to fund the museum?Private donations. Fundraising. Sponsors. The good old American way.
On the other hand, $24 admission will keep out the riffraff.
