When hearing this news if you are a…

Democrat - you hear: “Sunshine, lollypops, and rainbows, everything that’s wonderful is gonna come your way…”

Republican - you hear: “Johnny Angel how I love him and how I hope that someday he’ll love me…”

Conservative - you hear the beginning of Beethoven’s 5th

Not all of the damage started with Obonghit.

True, but Senator Obama was among the Democrats who blocked Republican efforts to reel in Fannie and Freddie during the last decade.

And attorney-at-law Obama fought to lower mortgage standards so that "disadvantaged" people could get mortgages, many whom couldn't afford them.

But the free trade idea was being pushed long before Obama became President.

Me too, been looking for awhile now. People who are employed have no idea how rough it really is...

To tell the truth I was once on the Chinese marketplace side.

We have sent far too much however, and China has been far too aggressive in deindustrializing America.

Enough.

Time to aggressively bring back jobs to America.

We need jobs. Right here.

And we need to stop sending money to China.

We need to grow.

We are in a huge competition now with China. Not cooperation. Competition.

America please wake up.

“the job I lost in 2012 is now paying about $4 less an hour than what I was making at the time and there’s a lot more responsibility now.”

This is the elephant in the room that is being hushed in the news; anyone I know who lost a job and found another is making a lot less money (even if they’re doing the same thing). Our wages are being suppressed to meet the rising wages of Asia’s growing middle class (who are working the jobs we used to have).

Reading these accounts from Freepers like you really makes me bitter about my choice in post 37.

Things changed good to worse in 2007 when the rats took over

Look at Detroit. Run by the "rats" for decades.

"$hit and shoved in it"... it's the "rats" trademark.

I hope you realize that was supposed to be "Things changed from good to worse in 2007 when the rats took over"

Thanks for re-posting and allowing me to correct my mistake.

Remember we were in a economic bubble in 2000. so Gore would have continued Billy Jeff's bubble and we would have still been attacked by the terrorists on 9/11/2001. The difference is Gore would have done nothing about it.

I noticed that Carlyle Group (perhaps the most politically connected private equity outfit) is buying trailer parks. That’s likely a good indicator of America’s future.

Definitely; in my area the flourishing businesses are self-storage, laundromats, pawnshops/second-hand stores, and other businesses catering to Americans with no children/no future. Everything is designed around living in the present.

The same thing is going to happen in NYC, or any city that is controlled by the rats. Unless the voters wake up.

I wish you luck. I was out for work for six months last year, and finding a job was excruciatingly difficult. I finally wound up at a great company, but had to take a serious pay cut, at least for the near term.

Personal networking is the best way to find something. Forget about the online job sites and all that - they can give you ideas about who might be hiring in your area, but you've got to show up in person and get in front of someone. Otherwise, your resume will land on the pile with thousands of other victims of the Obamaconomy.

Drop me a line if you are interested in or have experience in insurance and/or financial services and I'll see what I can do for you.

That’s the Burj Khalifa. They charge $100 just to ride the elevator to the top.

"300 Trillion"

You may want to check your numbers. The trade deficit is bad, but not that bad.

As our good conservative professor Walter E Williams has taught us repeatedly, we need not fear trade deficits.

We all experience a trade deficit with our grocer and gasoline supplier. There is no negative effect.

International trade deficits are to individual accounts of corporations, persons, not national sovereign accounts.

Back in 2009, I was laid off from a company I had nearly 28 years with. God was with me and I was able to get a job a month later.

The fact that my new job paid 60% of what my old one did and my commute tripled is beside the point. I figured out what I needed to make to support my son and myself. I expected a pay cut and I am still employed at that job.

You have to be realistic in your expectations. And, you have to be flexible. And it really helps if you have Faith!

All that being said, the we are in a Depression, not a recovery. Obama's goal is to destroy this country. He has nearly destroyed the healthcare industry. He is destroying our military. And he is destroying our collective work ethic.

"Now that I’m old, they build larg buildings and fill them with technology to spy on Americans."

And courthouses to convict them, and jails to throw them in. I knew we were all hosed when corrections officially overtook agriculture and tourism as Colorado's #1 industry some years back.

"When that crowd loses their jobs they'll be singing a different tune."

That crowd's been sitting on their hind-ends collecting retirement checks for the last 20 years.
