I have a pellet handgun that shoots lead pellets (can also shoot BBs), and it is an exact replica of a handgun and if I pointed that at a cop, I would get shot, and it would be my fault. There is no way to tell this is not a real handgun. They should make these in colors instead of black so cops would know they are not real handguns.

My pellet gun will take down small animals, as in kill them. Any child should have adult supervision if there are lead pellets in the gun. BBs are not as lethal as the pellets and there are some pellets that are more destructive than others. I have the most destructive in my gun.

The size and design are an exact replica of the real gun, so yes, color them so people don't get killed by having one in their hand.

Here’s a radical notion: Let the market work it out. Those worried about being shot by cops could by unicorn-shaped pink squirt guns. Those who want a utilitarian tool and will be careful about how they handle it around idiot cops can buy something black and authentic looking.
