Will it be a Todd Akin moment? Or will retired Navy SEAL Ryan Zinke become a hero for calling Hillary Clinton “the real enemy” and “the Antichrist”?

That’s what happened Monday when Zinke, who is running in a Republican primary to be the standard-bearer to replace Rep. Steve Daines, who is seeking a Senate seat, spoke at a campaign event.

*snip*

“We need to focus on the real enemy,” he said, referring to former secretary of state Clinton. he called her “the anti-Christ.”

*snip*

Zinke said he asked seven powerful Republicans if they think the nation can be set straight after the Obama reign. Of the seven, only one said yes — former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, now a senior adviser to his campaign.

There’s a fine line between being hyperbolic and being ridiculous, and unfortunately, I think this poor candidate crossed it.

Nobody ever said Hillary was Christlike or even likes Christ. The Anti-Christ is a specific reference, and attaching it to Hillary gives her a lot more credit than she is due.

Yes, now Obama miiiight be somebody in the running for Anti-Christ. Actually, he’s such a bumbler and unattractive personality that he seems to be losing his popularity, so maybe people won’t find him seductive and follow him off to destruction after all. And they’re sure not going to find Hillary attractive!

So maybe the position is still open. Evil people abound, and those two are both evil in their own ways, but fortunately I don’t think the Anti-Christ has arrived yet. Because it’s not going to be fun when he does...

Although I like the cut of his jib, there are SO MANY possible candidates for Antichrist, I am not sure that he is correct in this particular case.

But I could be wrong...

Hillary is closer to being THE Antichrist than anyone in human history. Obama is NOTHING compared to her. ANY defense of her for ANY reason is absurd.

“We need to focus on the real enemy,” he said

And may the odds be forever in your favor.

If the only competences we require of our political leaders is that they attend law school and know how to conduct a political campaign, then we will end up being governed by idiots who only know how to smile and read a teleprompter.

There aren’t enough evil, despicable words to describe the beast that is Hillary.

MT did vote for Clintoid in 1992, and people there are mostly Democrat in statewide races.

Bit of a stretch.

"Montana was won by Governor Bill Clinton (D-Arkansas) with 37.63% of the popular vote over incumbent President George H.W. Bush (R-Texas) with 35.12%. Businessman Ross Perot (I-Texas) finished in third with 26.12% of the popular vote (Wikipedia)

Montanans have elected too many national (two senators) and statewide (governor) Dems, but the Republicans have put up weak and error-prone candidates.

Steve Daines is young and reasonably steady and he was easily elected to Congress in 2012, in a year when the Dem governor and idiot Dem incumbent senator (Tester) squeaked past lackluster candidates.

Romney easily carried the state, for what that's worth, and Republicans were elected attorney general and secretary of state.

Republicans hold big majorities in both the state senate and the house, and their main battles are intra-party: between establishment types who want to spend more and tough, tight-fisted conservatives.

Demographics have changed over the past couple decades but when Montana Republicans put up good, clean, feisty candidates they win.

I should acknowledge that Zinke, who could be a strong candidate, is only going to alienate the crucial ranch and farm vote with "anti-Christ" talk.

Still lots of good God-fearing people across the state and they won't take kindly to some upstart telling them who is and isn't the Debbil. IMO.

Giving her too much credit. She is an evil, lying, power-mad wench. This is true. Beyond that, don’t think so. She will conspire to save herself at any cost and especially hose over anyone that stands in her way. But anti- Christ? No.
