Here in VA Cuccinelli won the white vote. We have entered the era of tribal politics and the white tribe is declining. Each year the cohort that turns 18 is more Democrat than the previous one. And we import thru immigration 800,000 future Democrat voters.
Many of the asians I know, are Republican. It tends to differ based on country of origin. Japanese, Chinese and Koreans are hard working, more affluent, and tend to want to hold on to their money and not pay high taxes. Those tend to be conservative. Filipinos, pacific islanders, Thai, Vietnamese and other asians on lower economic rungs tend to be Democrats. My wife is Chinese-American, and her family and relatives are predominantly conservative. They tend to look down on Filipinos and others as not hard working; sounds racist of them and probably is, but that's the way it is because all asians are definitely not alike.
The Australian Industry Group, (Ai Group) a pressure group that lobbies on behalf of Australian industry, has called on the country’s Coalition government to raise the number of immigrants admitted each year from 190,000 annually to 220,000 with immediate effect.
The Chief Executive of Ai Group, Innes Willox, has written to the Australian immigration minister Scott Morrison urging the government to increase skilled immigration in particular.
In his letter, dated 19th December 2013, Mr Willox says that immigration is necessary ‘to support positive growth in our population and especially in our adult workforce, due to relatively low rates of natural population growth’.
Yeah.
He should settle down and just discuss things normally.

I believe that current usage is to reserve Oriental for things and not people. At least in public and on official forms. So oriental rugs and tea but East Asian immigrants. Maybe the crowd I moved with was very PC?

Oriental is a good descriptive term.

Yep ... and most of the Asian immigrants are LEGAL. There’s the big difference.
As far as I can tell this article is about legal immigrants. We have plenty of illegal Asian immigrants of all stripes but Mexican-Hispanic illegals outnumber them. My guess 4 to 1 or greater
I don’t care where they are from or how they vote we need a moratorium on ALL immigration for at least twenty years.

The word “Asian” is meaningless. Hundreds of ethnic groups from the Arctic to the central Pacific, perhaps a third to half of all people are Asiatic.
