For years the Taliban have railed against infidel dogs who have invaded Afghanistan.
Now it seems they have caught one.
A video released by the Talibans cultural arm, al-Emara, pictures long-haired gunmen showing off the spoils of war.
They include weapons captured, they claimed, in an operation against American forces on December 23 as well as a subdued-looking canine on a chain. It wears the sort of shoulder harness used by working dogs.
(video at link)
This dog was named after a colonel, said one of the fighters. It had a torch on it and its neck wore a GPS.
Dogs are used extensively by coalition forces in Afghanistan. Some work sniffing out IEDs, weapons or drugs while others have a search and rescue role.
It is a dangerous job.
A spokesman for the Nato-led International Security Assistance force in Kabul said: We are aware of the video. However, we have no operational reporting to confirm it.

Will they cook it and send it to the ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF?
Well now they’ve done it!
They’ve captured a dog.
Can we nuke them now?
well, this will finally piss off the liberals.
They will keep it around for date night.
Always remember, in the movies the good guys are always the ones kindest to dogs. If there are no dogs available, a cat will do.
You know, the Kenyan Turd said he eats dog.
Just like any American, that dog is.. unfortunately.. doomed.
We shouldn’t be sending dogs or men over there. Its an I sane waste under this jackass or the fool who preceded him.
Very timely, since this is Joe’s birthday!!
Pretty well confirms that this is true. He's prob a drug sniffer or IED hound but I can pretty much guarantee it's not an attack dog... Why ??? Cause they all have their hands
GPS? Looks like a good time for a drone strike.
This 4-legged hero doesn’t look happy...tail down, ears back.
I hate muslim scum.
Sad ping

Shows like that are so touching; I was in tears after watching an episode of Pet Heroes that told the story of a Gander, a St. Bernard who, during the battle of Hong Kong, was attacking the Japanese who got close, sending them back (the Japanese called the huge dog the “black devil” or something like that). The dog also saw how the Canadian soldiers were throwing back any grenades lobbed at them.
At one point, none of the men, all injured, could reach a Japanese grenade. Gander took the grenade in his mouth and ran as fast as he could, over the hill towards the Japanese, killing himself and many opponents.
The dog had been adopted by a regiment of the Canadian Army stationed in Gander, NF. The Canadian War Museum and other groups worked to get the dog a posthumous medal for bravery in 2000, and his name is now engraved on the Veterans Memorial Wall in Ottawa (survivors of the battle insisted on that).
Long story short, on these and so many occasions, dogs truly demonstrate that they are “man’s best friend.”
What a sad story that you posted (and sorry for my lengthy response; I had to edit it!). I’m sure the handler of this missing dog is heartbroken. It appears the dog is too (”subdued”). I hope by some miracle he is returned.
a military working dog went mission...
How does a dog go "mission"?
an ISAF missing
Not sure what that happens to be...

OMG, I just watched that video. Not one of the men have a smile on their face; some are actually waving their big machine guns at him, showing off how “brave” they are at catching an “infidel dog.” What pathetic, little “men.”
And then that poor dog clearly senses that something is horribly, horribly wrong. Had a group of people with a heart found the dog, its body language would have been very different—tail wagging, sniffing around curiously, perhaps even trying to get help returning to its pack. The dog is in the presence of evil.
This one is Rusty Duritz in the movie "THE KID" starring Bruce Willis
So, I'm forty, I'm not married, I don't fly jets, and I don't have a dog? I grow up to be a loser.
Taliban are a bunch of losers so they needed to have a dog!
