I’m white and I love that menu. If anything it’s stereotypical of the South more than anything. Hell, they missed the damned collard greens and black-eyed peas or is that African American-eyed peas???

Oh, oh! It goes back to slavery so we can’t have that. Excuse me, but isn’t that the whole idea behind Black History Month? I don’t see any other skin color getting their own special months. All together now, “That’s racist!” The Chinese were put down so how about giving them March for the cherry blossoms. Give the Mexicans the whole month of May instead of one day. Give the natives of Alaska January simply because it’s cold. Give the American Indians, including those down to one drop of native blood (can’t discriminate, ya know) and those who identify (hats off to diversity) as NA the month of November just because it’s easier to remember what with Thanksgiving and turkeys and all. Give the Irish immigrants, ok all white skinned folk, October since Irish potatoes are harvested then. Oh, wait, sorry, can’t have a white guy month. What? All that is racist and not PC? Yeah, well, that takes us back to what gives blacks the right to have their extra special month but no one else can have their own extra special month? Whatever.
BTW, the evil white men were eating chicken, cornbread and watermelon along with collard greens, turnips and sweet potato pie long before any poor black skinned slaves were brought here. Same as they have been around the world since the beginning of mankind. Which also begs the question why blacks get their extra special foods? Ban chickens! Ban corn! Ban melons!

Liberals have such a hard time keeping their racism under control you can’t help but laugh at them. Some menu planner on the staff comes up with this blatantly racist (But funny) idea and the administrators are all tripping over themselves to apologize. Then they make all the students and faculty go through remedial “Diversity Training”. That should solve the problem. Maybe they should invite Al Sharpton to come speak at graduation.
I always thought they’d be PO’ed about that, but they don’t seem to care if they get the short end of the months.

Why do I think the offended were white people who are perpetually offended. And what’s with traditional southern food being racist? I lived in Texas for years and watermelon was everywhere. Fried chicken sold at nearly every restaurant. And if that’s the case are all us who crave Popeyes chicken racist? There was a Katrina relocation family that set up a New Orleans themed lunch restaurant. I loved going there. Guess what was on the menu? Cornbread, red beans and rice, fried chicken, po boys, jumbilaya, EVEN GRAPE COOLAID was on the drink dispenser. I guess that was a racist black family and I didn’t even realize it because I’m so racist.
