In earlier days that was a southern meal. In my growing up years, there was always cornbread for lunch and dinner and fried chicken was eaten frequently. We called meals breakfast, dinner, and supper.

Fried Chicken was Sunday Dinner food that was eaten everywhere; from the big house on the hill to the shotgun cabins.
