We have a huge outing (we live by a lake) every 4th of July. We have a lunch of brisket and pulled pork but in the evening Hot Dogs are very popular. My grandkids all like Hot Dogs anytime anywhere. My question is why doesn’t McDonalds and other fast food chains sell dogs? Does anyone know?

I can't speak for the other fast food restaurants but Ray Kroc prohibited McDonalds from selling hot dogs because he felt that the meat byproducts used in them were unhygienic and not up to the standards of McDonalds.

Before Kroc took over the chain from the McDonald brothers, they did have hot dogs on the menu.
