Sorry, but Mitt Romney had the strongest anti ILLEGAL immigration position of any - ANY - Republican candidate in the last 30 years.
Because, if you want to participate in the political process at all, sometimes you support someone who is the [and I know how conservative purists hate this] the lesser of two evils.
Or you can sit the election out protesting that there is no candidate that meets your criteria.
The last election saw about 5 million conservatives take the latter decision. But Romney looks like a pretty good alternative to me right at the moment.
