the debt needs to be substantially reduced...not increased

Yes! The Republican party is supposed to stand for certain things. Limited government, individual freedom, strong national defense, fiscal responsibility.

Ever since Bush 1, the GOP leadership has been very willing to trade away those core principles for empty promises. It's pathetic.

Oh, but wait! If the GOP caves now, maybe the GOP can take the Senate. Clever! Then they themselves can sponsor the next round of big spending, instead of just watching the dem's do it.

the situation with the Bushs was non-ideal for sure. But, Obama has run up 6 or 7 TRILLION in new public debt in just the last 5 years, a whopping, unprecedented spending spree...and worst of all, WHERE DID ALL OUR MONEY GO!?
He told us it was for “shovel ready public infrastructure projects”.... but where are all the new dams, power stations, freeways, parkways, universities, airports, harbors, hospitals????????????? they mostly AIN’T....
because...our money got shoved down a black hole, never to be seen again (except by those who stole it ... ?)... HAD Obama been honest enough to spend our money on new public works .... at least we would have something to show for it!
(We are still using some highways and post office buildings and bridges and dams and power generating stations from the last great Depression ..... so while FDR did a lot of bad things, and while he spent up a storm..... he at least left behind some useful infrastructure...we have something to show for part of the FDR spending spree.....we still get some utility from some of these things)...but with Obama, there’s nothing of any real value for us at all... all our money is just GONE...
