As long as my memory is, I cannot remember a government IT rollout that was successful, on time or on budget. None.

Yes, IT failures in the government are common place. Obamacare was but one example. But in the case of the IRS, several spectacular failure equated to billions of dollars.

In general, in the government nobody is ever held accountable; they are more likely to be promoted or get a better job in another agency.

I remember computer systems by the department of defense that they scrapped because after spending billions and never getting them to work, the hardware was obsolete.
