The people of Ukraine need to know that the free world stands with them as they protest the actions of President Viktor Yanukovych designed to destroy their constitutional rights and drive their country into the sphere of influence of Vladimir Putin

Is it just me...

this is what the article says that Ted Cruz said

The world cannot afford to be distracted by the Olympic festivities in Sochi as just next door liberty-seeking Ukrainians are brutalized by their own government.

But this is the title of the article,

Ted Cruz: The World Cannot Afford to Be Distracted as Ukrainians Are Brutalized by Their Own Government

.....hmmm

Not our problem.

The fact is that the country is divided between Ukrainians and Russians settlers. The former have more affinity with the Poles and do not wish their country to be pulled back into the Russian orbit.

"The trouble in the Ukraine has been revealed to be an outside job funded by Soros."

You think the Ukranians are not legitimately angry about being sold back under Moscow's thumb by an ethnic Russian? There are legitimate city governments threatening secession. Not all the protesters are pro-EU Soros types.

I really liked Ted Cruz until I read this.

The last person I want in the Oval Office is a naive do-gooder filled with do-gooderism.

I've had my fill of it.

The USA has no national interest in Ukraine.

Some are furious, but some ARE ethnic Russians themselves, and are very supportive. Ukraine is not a unified nation, and there’s really nothing the US can or should do about that. There is enough trouble at home for us to go around acquiring the troubles of the world on top of it.

Sure turn on Ted Cruz now at the drop of a hat. Good God!

Did he call for dropping troops in the Ukraine? No. Does America have some interest in not seeing a new Russian empire? Yes.

"Also, I think we should be aware that George Soros is backing the rebels, and has been funding them with big bucks since last year at least."

When you say "rebels" is that a reference to the russians or Ukrainians?

I find this situation very confusing. I'm not quite clear about the EU thing if it's good or bad for Ukraine. All I know is that russia should stay out of Ukraine. They've done enough damage to that country.

I see russia as New York City and Ukraine being Upstate New York. NYC cannot survive without Upstate New York and has imposed many laws and taken over many lands just to suit their needs. Upstate NY does not need NYC to survive. It's all about water.

There is another useful thread about Ukraine, and I’ve been reading about it for weeks elsewhere. It is not that simple. Protestors in the beginning, and since, were hired by (?) and bussed in. There are merceneries on both sides, agents provacateurs, EU and who knows what funded people on the protestors’ side.

To me it looks like Putin on one side and a conglomeration of dubious to bad influences on the other, are using regular Ukrainians as pawns and now, as cannon fodder. The EU is more commie than Russia.

It's Vlad's backyard, one he's spent $trillions improving...and 100's of thousands of lives protecting...especially from the Nazi's. You know, those guys whom the Western Ukrainians collaborated with in WWII.

The only interest the USA has there is a short, curious glance.

Then look the other way.

Well, we see that Cruz is a cynical pol bent upon sucking up to the neocon power structure of BOTH parties.

Congrats Ted! You’ll be taken seriously and invited onto MEET THE PRESS while Rand Paul is destroyed in 2016. A war in Eastern Europe? Ted won’t have to fight it.

He’s the new Lindsey Graham.

Wait, I’m confused. I thought we were all about promoting democracy? The government of the Ukraine was elected, right? So, they made a decision the people didn’t like and now they are rioting and trying to bring the government down, and we want to help them?

Wowzer, this saving the world stuff is harder than I thought.

According to Alex Jones, the “protesters” are Soros-funded Muslim Nazis, tools of the NWO.

Ted’s great on everything except for his support of a militant, interventionist foreign policy. That is not conservative. It is foolish and crazy.

He needs to get rid of this, or it will cost him the White House. The American people don’t want to get in shooting wars in all the locations Ted has identified as being places we must get involved.

Alex Jones is correct, except for the Muslim part.

After Stalin, Mao, and Ho, devils all, “Commie” is a term a bit too strong to be applied to the EU Commissars.

We do have a do-gooder in the White House, which is why nothing will be done.

We are involved in all these places, like it or not, or we would not have an embassy there.

There was a reason why they welcomed the Nazis, or do you not know what the Communists did to the people of the Ukraine? In 1912, a huge percent of the world’s wheat passed through the Straits to feed the rest of the world. That industry has never recovered to this very day.

Not really. They want endless Moslem butchers to flow into Europe to do the dirty work.

Just because EU “leaders” are more genteel and have not racked up the millions of deaths (yet) does not make them any less dangerous. They want all EU countries to have abortion, fag rights and euthanasia. And strangling of all local autonomy and economics and national identity.

They’re bad.
