Lake Superior looks like a very, very sick Wile E. Coyote.
Wonder why most of Lake Michigan is as yet unfrozen? Always heard that large inland lakes can moderate the weather.
I’m not sure why Lake Michigan tends to stay open. I think it might have something to do with the wave action over a shorter distance. Lake Superior usually stays open simply because there’s so much water there.
The lakes do moderate the weather quite a bit.
