There is a wide range of diseases that are classified as autoimmune disorders. His was vasculitis, and inflammation of the blood vessels having nothing whatsoever to do with any STDs. Other common autoimmune diseases most Americans have in their families are thyroid trouble, lupus, arthritis, and many others.
And what stoppped ABC from adding a single sentence or phrase to say his demise had nothing to do with the homosexual lifestyle?
