Does Ukraine have any sort of military? Certainly, if things go bad with Russia, I don’t believe they will be able to defend themselves.

Is the EU and the US ready to send in troops? What will happen to the EU and Ukraine if Russia decides to turn off the gas? The whole situation can get very nasty really fast.

I think in terms of manpower and a number of assets Ukrainian military is among the most formidable is the world or at least in Europe for sure. As for a quality of their troops I’m not sure.

Given that most of Russia’s gas flows to it’s EU customers through pipelines in the Ukraine, I doubt it’s in Putin’s (or anyone’s interest) for a real, hot war to develop there.

Putin’s doing what he does best; sabre rattle and manoeuvre.

Russia would roll thru the east with little problem. Might take two or three weeks to crush the western part if they really wanted to. The EU send troops? Lol! Sorry for that but even the us isn’t Going to be facing up to russia in the ukraine. Its Obama who is rattling sabers. Russia will do whatever is in its best interest and the pipeline is both its excuse to roll and a weapon to withhold gas from europe.
