“RT network now consists of three global news channels broadcasting in English, Spanish and Arabic, RT America broadcasting from a Washington, DC studio and a documentary channel RTDoc. RT has 22 bureaus in 19 countries and territories, with a presence in Washington, New York, London, Berlin, Gaza, Cairo, Baghdad and other key cities and employs over 1000 media professionals around the globe.
RT is the winner of the 2013 Monte Carlo TV Festival Award for the best 24-hour newscast, for reporting on the Chelyabinsk meteor crash. In 2010, RT became the first Russian TV channel to be nominated for the prestigious International Emmy award in the News category. The network received its second News nomination, in 2012, for its coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement.”
Just follow the money.
1) Who founded RT?
2) Who funds RT?
Once you figure that out, ask yourself how spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a news agency could possibly serve in their national interest.
PS: If you can find ANYTHING reported by Russia Today that is critical of Putin, reveals any type of activity in Russia that puts Putin in a bad light, reports on anything that puts Sochi in a bad light, or in any way criticizes the current regime in Russia, I will reconsider.
