While White House and Ocean Reef officials have refused to confirm the visit, several employees of the exclusive club say Secret Service agents are on the property. No-fly zones are also in place this weekend for parts of Key Largo and Homestead, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Meanwhile, some mem- bers of the solidly Republican enclave have expressed out- rage about the pending visit.

“President Obama has done nothing but degrade and punish the ‘one percent’ of Americans who have done the most for this country,” accord- ing to an email to Ocean Reef Club board members signed by residents Joe and Fran Murphy.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/sneed/26030820-452/sneed-obamas-outing-riles-up-ritzy-golf-club-members.html

Described in a Miami Herald blog as “about as far away from middle class as you can get in Key Largo,” the Ocean Reef Club is home to some of the nation’s wealthiest families.

“Many of the club members don’t want their peaceful enclave to be disturbed by a man who will bring a flood of publicity, Secret Service and unwelcome visitors,” said a Sneed source. “And they have been very vocal about expressing their feelings to the Ocean Reef board.”

Added another Sneed source: “They don’t feel welcoming to someone who they feel disdains their largess and lifestyle.”

On Tuesday, Sneed tipped that a brace of helicopters would transport the president and his entourage to the wealthy gated community. Although the White House would not comment, an Ocean Reef board spokesman verified by phone that the president was coming.

On Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration issued temporary flight restrictions over Key Largo from Friday through Sunday so pilots will avoid the area, according to their website.

A reader submits the following disclosure released by Ocean Reef Club, a country club, which very much unlike America’s 35 million food-stamp recipients, has roughly a $35 million net worth cutoff for members, who enjoy such amenities as 100 foot yachts, a private airport, and two golf courses. It is precisely in connection with golf that we see these very needy multi-millionaires follow in Wall Street’s footsteps and proceed to redistribute wealth away from those who actually work for their money, to those who merely use the dollar as a temporary (or otherwise) replacement for one-ply Cottonelle.

Do any famous people live or belong to the club?
One of the great features of a private club such as Ocean Reef is the privacy. Many of our members can come with their family and feel that they are home, away from prying eyes and curious onlookers. Someone famous, whether from business or entertainment is just like everyone else here at the club, a member.

I spent a week at ocean reef club, years ago.

It’s the last place that moslem terrorist enemy combatant belongs.

I’d be livid if I paid $__________ for Ocean Reef membership only to wake up as that jihadi rolled in with his Moslem Brotherhood bodyguards.

In further news...

It was announced today that Barack Obama has issued an Executive Order rescinding Daylight Savings Time this weekend as he did not want to lose an hour of playtime.

I spent some formative years docking at Ocean Reef, taking a 24' open fishing boat, with twin 85 Evinrude outboards. Sometimes traveling around to cross Florida Bay to Flamingo (no easy trip) back down to Marathon, and up the oceanside back to OR.

The place was spankin' new, then, and the first place I ever saw forklift stacked boatdocks.

I doubt those barns survived Andrew, twelve years later, and I can only imagine what the place looks like today.

I doubted I wanted to stop by and ruin my memories of what I think I remember about the place now, more than 40 years later.

Now, after Zero has left his taint there, I know I won't want to go back.

The man soils the ground he walks on.

Having to put up with this jackass everytime he visits Kailua (where I live part time) I promise you Obama ENJOYS making your lives a living hell.

What’ll really be fun are the 24 hour fighter jet flyovers. You’re gonna love that. Having the entire neighborhood blocked off with car searches and ID checks just to get in and out of your own street are real fun too. Just don’t get mad at those poor secret service guys. They’re honorably doing their job. How anyone would take a bullet for that man is beyond my comprehension.
