ABORTION

that is all you need to know. women want it. women demand it. women vote for it. and the only way they can do that is vote Democrat.

its subliminal, and reasonable when you think about it. got a medical problem? see the doctor. got cancer? cut it out. pregnant with an unwanted child? same thing.

what would you do? spend the rest of your life with a child and a relationship with a man you do not care for? even if you do not marry...he is still the father and has parental rights. if you do not understand that this is a personal liberty issue that trumps everything else keep losing elections.

take Abortion off the table...win elections.

BTW i hate abortion...for the same list of reasons that others who hate it have adequately expressed. but i am not a woman. i cannot really understand how important this is...its about freedom, about liberation...about equality...about qualilty of life....self determination...

we must understand that opposition to abortion is rooted in ethics founded on religion(s) that have been discarded by most of the women voting today.

cry about it. lament it. lose elections.

Goldwater insisted affiliation with Religious Right would eventually kill the Republican Party. He was widely ridiculed for that, because at the time, a majority of American voters still felt an affinity for the ways of their church-going predecessors. But, as he so often was, he called it exactly right.

The WWII veterans who elected Reagan are long gone, and in their place we have generations of brainwashed public school products, the most recent of whom have come out of college convinced that "a woman's right to choose", gay marriage, and climate change are literally the only political issues that matter.

Social conservatives got their dream President in George W. Bush. Sad to say, he poisoned the well, and probably will be remembered in history as the man who almost single-handedly relegated his party to Whig-dom.

As you point out, there is room for a genuine small-government, pro-liberty party to make progress, especially among those brainwashed younger voters. They do have doubts about the swill they have been fed - they just aren't hearing articulate opposition to the groupthink. The Tea Party could have been, and may still become that party, despite tremendous efforts by the MSM to tar it with the Religious Right brush. They aren't going to take over the appallingly corrupt Senate by 2016, certainly, but they can make the corrupt tremble.

There is hope that a political figure with Reagan's gift for communication might soon emerge at the head of an entirely new political movement, whether that individual calls him or herself a Republican or not (I favor not - the brand is too badly damaged.) Obama has egotistically pushed way too far, and the backlash is going to be horrendous for progressive types.
