Did anyone expect the roommate to say “Yes, They were muslim terrorists intent on hijacking the airplane.”?
Generally, Iranians do not send their own to die in suicide bombs. They get others to do it for them, IMHO.
How does this story alleviate any suspicions?

True, but someone probably put the squeeze on this guy. This wasn’t him sitting in Starbucks with his favorite drink before him. Also, his story has to pan out. There has to be that Aunt in Germany or wherever, and the other pieces need to fit. If not, in a day we will hear that their stories don’t pan out.
