Malaysia's military believes a jetliner missing for almost four days turned and flew hundreds of kilometers to the west after it last made contact with civilian air traffic control off the country's east coast, a senior officer told Reuters on Tuesday. --SNIP--
Malaysian authorities have previously said flight MH370 disappeared about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for the Chinese capital Beijing.
"It changed course after Kota Bharu and took a lower altitude. It made it into the Malacca Strait," the senior military officer, who has been briefed on investigations, told Reuters.

The only issue with a non-stop flight to Somalia is the distance from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing is 2700 miles. While the distance from Kuala Lumpur to Mogadishu is 3900 miles(add an extra 300+ miles for the first hour of flight North).
From what I understand, while the plane has the actual capability to carry enough fuel to fly 5-6000+ miles. It typically will only carry enough fuel for the scheduled trip(and a little extra for any ‘emergency’).
Maybe someone with definitive knowledge can give a more accurate/detailed response.
So I’m not so sure the airplane would’ve been carrying enough fuel to make it to Somalia(non-stop).

If you go back and look at my links, the company has a special division which is working with our defense system.. I just don't know enough about electronics, but at least one of the men on the plane was a programmer...

I have lots of links posted in the last few days about Freescale. I have thought all along that it never crashed and it was a red eye flight, remember...that in the dark they managed to take it somewhere and land it.
Yesterday morning my husband who, ahem, knows about this stuff, said he thought they might be able to make it to Somalia.
They’re saying this is a boeing 777-200ER. Wiki says it has a range of 8800 miles. As a non-aviator, I have no idea if they always go with full fuel tanks. That distance is at maximum weight. Somalia is about 4000 miles away.
Can you remember the cause of death for those two Seals on that boat the other week?

The Malaysian military said they tracked the plane on radar to near that island. They didn’t say the plane landed.
IF that island has a suitable runway(which I have no idea), and IF they tracked it there, let it land, AND then let it take off again....
Then, a million more questions come to mind.
Then, it had to be someone that knew their Itineraries, knew a way onto the plane & knew how to take it over, right??
And we also have to know who REALLY was seated in first class.

That sounds about right, except it wouldn’t average 550mph. Take off and ascent, along with the time to descend for landing would probably take it under 4000 miles.
Maybe it’d have enough fuel to get there, maybe not. BUT, I don’t think a passenger/hijacker could bet on it.
