Aircraft and engine manufacturers have own engineers working alongside with any airline’s maintenance sites as consultants or technical representatives. They have access to everything from ACARS data, on-board and maintenance diagnostics, etc., Mr. Hussein, the Malaysia transport minister, may not be aware of.
