Anyone have an AIS account or familiar with how to operate it?

I got an email saying that the USS Kidd had her AIS on when she was East of the peninsula. Supposedly she turned to head to the Indian Ocean accelerated to flank speed and turned he AIS off.

Can someone confirm this?

Also got an email that about every P-3 is in the air from all over the Pacific.
