THE POLITICAL MYSTERY OF MALAYSIA FLIGHT 370
I loved flying my Sr-71...and I loved flying the 747 into locations that were low IFR (using live weather data).
The cockpit layouts are so real...that if all you had to do was FLY (and there were no emergencies)....a seasoned simmer could do it.
“The pilot and copilot were devout Muslims.”
Islam is the official religion of Malaysia.
“Then the plane climbed to 45,000 feet - 2000 feet above the aircrafts service ceiling - this could only have been to kill all the passengers. There is no other reason to do this.”
Taking it to FL450 achieved nothing. Systems could still function at FL450 although the plane would be less capable of stable flight.
“This plane was handled masterfully the entire time - whoever did this was a fox, not a fool.”
Not sure about that. It could have stalled at FL450 which caused the sudden descent.
“Doesnt it seem odd hed build a simulated cockpit just because he likes flying so much?”
That’s irrelevant.
What’s relevant is that the pilot was a good muslim and attended the mosque regularly.
Excellent analysis.
agreed... there was some type of valuable cargo on board.
For the past several days, the simplest explanation compatible with the public facts is that the plane was hijacked, either by or with the aid of the flight crew. They chose the idea spot to turn off the transponders and go dark. The turn off course was, we are told in some reports, pre-programmed into the nav system (how this can be known, we are not told.)
So it’s pretty clear that whoever planned this had a plan. And that plan would probably have an objective, as you note.
They didn’t burn into the Petronas Towers; the nearest obvious large target.
What we’re told is that the plane either turned right, and headed off toward central Asia, or left, to eventually ditch in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
What’s simpler? The guys who planned this, after gaining control of the aircraft, decide to disappear in the sea? Or do they at least try to get to a preselected destination on land where they could meet up with some allies, hide out for a while, and get ready to use the plane, (and hostages?) for some novel purpose.
All you would need is a dry lake bed and a truck full of JetA-1 fuel. There’s no shortage of dry lake beds in central Asia.
So, i’d suggest that the past tense is premature. Maybe they are at the bottom of the ocean, and are no further worry to anyone. Maybe they crashed into a mountain, and are similarly, no longer a worry. But maybe they made it, and landed. That’s gotta be the contingency everyone is worried about.
I hate to flip-flop, but I think what they were after was the aircraft.
My theory - and I may be entirely wrong, but all other ideas defy logic.
1.) The plane was stolen by the pilot.
2.) He is one of the world's best at this aircraft.
3.) He is a fox, not a fool.
4.) The plane sent a ping for 7 hours after the diversion - it is not in the sea.
5.) Rumors of gold as the cargo have evaporated - I bought it at first too. But when you think about it, monetary gain would not make sense. The pilot would never get to enjoy the stolen riches.
6.) They wanted the plane.
7.) They want to make a monstrous bomb out of it.
8.) This is not over.
The plane was delivered to Al Qaeda in Pakistan who have quickly covered it with camouflage and have begun the task of disposing of all the bodies.
Then they will refuel the plane and pack it full of explosives. It will be ten times as devastating as the unarmed planes that took down the World Trade Center in New York.
A rogue pilot from the perfidious Pakistani Air Force will accompany this jet on its final mission. They will again fly undetected under the radar and tail another 777. The F-16 will shoot it down. The stolen 777 packed with explosives will take its place.
It will fly into Israel or Western Europe. Even America if they wish. They will fly it into either a nuclear plant, a packed stadium or city center on a busy day.
The Dimona nuclear plant would be the easiest target in Israel, but if they have a rogue pilot in an F-16 too, then they will go for Washington DC or New York.
Farfetched?
No way. The hard part of this mission is already accomplished.
To fly from Pakistan to Israel undetected is child's play for the crew that pulled this off. Israel is on the edge of civilization - to the east is no-man's-land and this plane can approach undetected. To hit Israel or Europe, they can probably do it without shooting down another 777.
The same goes for the Mediterranean Sea.
They might wait for everyone to forget about this and scratch their heads. Maybe wait for the Commonwealth Games to start in Glasgow and crash it into a stadium with 100,000 people at an event watched by a billion.
Some really bad people now have this aircraft. It is not in the sea as there was a system to send a beacon if this plane went underwater.
