I want to add that for any and all of these men who deserve this honor they should receive it. It is a shame they were not awarded it when they were still alive and a shame they must be awarded it by a caricature of a president.
The problem with Affirmative Action is that it tinges any minority who receives and honor or achieves success on his own merit with the suspicion that this honor or achievement was only the result of some racial quota. This is especially poignant when talking about the Medal of Honor.

Amen. There certainly have been deserving who did not get the award because of luck, and because of descrimination. If they are actually deserving, then there should be no problem in them being given the award - though who is giving it does unfortunately diminish the honor somewhat at the moment.
