“It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that mama has been (cros) dressing her little 9-year old boy in little girls clothes at home since birth. Further it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that mama is probably a single mom and raising her little male child all alone. If so then what a fine roll model she is turning out to be. (Ooooops, this was all so PC incorrect wasn’t it).”

Well, I raised my own son as a “single mother”, and he turned out to an outstanding young man...which I actually “credit” being a single mom FOR. There are many great men/fathers out there, this I do not contest. It’s that our world drives traditional(worldly/carnal)views in which I do not agree, and that multitudes of men adhere themselves to.

It is factual that my own son grew up without such views, and instead, was directed in the way that a man should really present himself in life, AND be treated. He is sensitive toward issues that require it, and he strong and determined where and when applicable. He is polite, modest, and compassionate. He respects women as his equal and doesn’t “view” them as “vessels”. The “worldly” man does this.

Furthermore, all this without a single emasculated bone in his body. A “desirable man”, is a strong, emotionally self-controlled one.(not a socially controlled, and macho one).

This is not at all about “PC”. It’s about having “tunnel vision”, or being a ‘broad-stroke painter’. MANY “single moms”, are to be PRAISED.

Single Mothers only represent “ABSENT fathers”.

Little boys are like lemmings, they emulate the male in their life. Whether a father/grandfather/uncle/older brother/neighbor boy/teacher....whatever. They model other males.

No woman can raise a boy from birth to adulthood and tell me the male child didn’t have a male role model. Good or bad.

So if your child turned out well, he had good male role models somewhere along the line. It wasn’t just you.

P.S. I, too, raised a son as a single mom but I don’t take all the credit for his many achievements in life...he had good male examples, for which I’m grateful.

Take away the monetary rewards from the state and you would see a lot less absent fathers.

Yeah, there are many people that can’t accept that a woman, single-highhandedly, can raise a son and ensure he doesn’t grow to become a “carnal” man, without a male role model. But, I’m here to tell ya, I did. And did it very successfully. No one else did this, BUT me, for I was THERE.

Now, I don’t dismiss any emotional support my son has received by others for any achievements he has made, but it wasn’t any of those people who raised him, or contributed to this task except, my mother. To her, I owe MUCH credit. Though ultimately, it was I who taught him how to nurture and preserve his masculinity in the way it SHOULD BE, and not the way the world thinks it should be. So, he turned out well because of MY HARD WORK.

Not all boys HAVE a (present) father, or living grandfathers, existing uncles or even siblings. And I am yet to meet a “neighborhood boy” who would not have a carnal effect on another neighborhood boy. In fact, many of my son’s male friends are the nicest boys, yet many of them are actively carnal-minded males. The worldly, call this “boys just being boys”.

Of course, I cannot say my own son “never” succumbs to this behavior when amongst them, but his foundation has been set. And thus far, from what I can assess, he has not deviated from it.

It’s good to know that your son did have good male role models. It IS a thing to be grateful for. This I don’t dispute.

We would see far less absent fathers if they would just be accountable for what they help to create. The state has nothing to do with it...except having to take the financial heat and chase deadbeat parents around to “make” them pay for their own children.

There are also many single mothers who do not pursue support, either...for one reason or another.

The states have everything to do with it. Every dollar of support is matched by the Feds so it behooves the states to destitute the fathers. I think both parties should be financially responsible for the children not just the fathers.

If it was “for the kids” as they say then whoever makes the most money should get the children. Custody should be a simple case of both parties presenting proof of income and whoever makes the most gets the kids.

No, they don’t.

While I agree totally that both parties should be responsible for their children’s welfare, the state is not responsible for the choice a father, OR mother may make in contrast to their responsibility as parents. No one should have to tell another that they have a responsibility to their children.

Children are not our pawns. It’s irresponsible parenting that creates complicated custody issues, not the states. Whoever is the most RESPONSIBLE should be the one to get the “kids”....not the one who makes the most money.

If ya can’t afford babies, don’t make em. Do you think it fair for the child(ren) of men and women who cannot understand this simple concept, to have that kind of lot in life? Fathers destitute themselves by their lack of accountability, mostly. Same as for deadbeat mothers...which are increasing each day. You know...people always have some selfish excuse as to why they can’t step up to the plate and take care of their children. I don’t suppose that will ever end.

Putting your hands on someone else or their property without permission with the intent to harm, degrade, or intimidate. Some will argue that words count, but I think those incidences need to be weighed on a case by case basis as some of it may be drama and some kids need to learn that people can suck and be mean.

CS is just a redistribution of wealth. Like I said before take away the Feds money and the states would not even care about those kids.

Even if a guy is paying on his own the CS folks still want the money to come to them first so the can “monitor” and get their cut.

All the single dads I know don’t get or even bother with child support from the mothers.

Maybe so. But what does this have to do with the topic at hand?

Children have always (and naturally) teased the weak and in most cases, everyone benefits.
