I'll be willing to listen, but if the young man didn't threaten anyone with his multi-tool Swiss Army Knife, then all that's happened is they've found a wee little pocketknife in his belongings on school grounds.

'Intent' better be part of this story you're wondering we haven't heard everything about. Please ping me to any thread where we learn of violent intent.

(As far as need for equipment, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of armed police have never shot anyone with their sidearm. I do know a paramedic who had to use his knife to cut a child's plastic car seat away from a toddler after a bad vehicle accident where the fire dept had to use 'Jaws of Life' spreader to open up the car enough so he could crawl in and rescue the child.)

I don't think the kid did anything wrong at all. I just know that seat belt cutting story is pretty much nonsense as experienced first responders will tell you it doesn't happen. If he just likes to have a knife for emergency use then just say so and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Then I'm hearing youtube videos and such.

This story sounds like the old saying when you are walking through the neighbors watermelon patch, don't stop to tie your shoes.

Also not stated, is on what authority was his vehicle searched? Did they have a warrant? And who is "they". Then there's the thirteen days in jail, really? His family left him in jail?

It just sounds to me like this story was written to stir up the right or just purely for sensationalism. It's full of holes.
