Missing Malaysian jet MH370: New French satellite images add to growing signs search is narrowing

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: New French satellite images show possible debris from a missing Malaysian airliner deep in the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia said on Sunday, adding to growing signs that the plane may have gone down in remote seas off Australia.

The latest lead comes as the international search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 entered its third week, with still no confirmed trace of the Boeing 777 that vanished with 239 people on board.

"This morning, Malaysia received new satellite images from the French authorities showing potential objects in the vicinity of the southern corridor," the Malaysian Transport Ministry said in a statement. "Malaysia immediately relayed these images to the Australian rescue co-ordination centre." The statement gave no details as to whether the objects were in the same vicinity as the other possible finds in a vast swathe of some of the most inhospitable sea territory on Earth.

The first visual sighting of objects that might be linked to the plane boosted search operations on Sunday. Australian officials said a wooden cargo pallet, along with belts or straps, was spotted Saturday in a remote stretch of the southern Indian Ocean that has become the focus of an intense international search in recent days.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Sunday there was "increasing hope" of finding the plane.

Well we know one person who thinks he is a good killer using technology. There is not much this person would NOT do if it made him feel more powerful. ——Including taking down an air plane with 200+ on board

Just heard on CNN how radar showed that the plane went as low as 12,000 feet..but then went back up to normal altitude, shows only a human could have done that

Porpoising can also be a faulty autopilot system.

When they mention radar is it ATC radar or a military radar? ATC radar picks up what the transponder puts out. The transponder altitude could be faulty. The transponder gets its info from the air data computers. The autopilots also gets its info from the air data system. It uses this data to maintain the correct altitude, airspeed and uses navigation info to maintain the correct heading.

So it helps to know how they got this info. A high flying aircraft can be seen a long way on ATC radar (my buddy says his radar used to see out 350 miles and he’s in a high traffic area) not so down low even for military radar the range is not that great because of the curvature of the earth.

Yeah that is exactly what Michael Kay said on CNN..since the transponder was turned off how is Malaysia able to get this radar? So if this information is true what does that suggest..that the pilots were trying to save the plane, and save the people from a rapid decompression? Yet the plane kept on flying for another 6 hours..the 12,000 foot altitude if the whole point was to save the passengers wouldn’t they all have been able to breathe? I think whenever I hear “Malaysian officials said” I take it with a grain of salt..everything out of their mouths have been lies since the beginning, from calling this a deliberate act to this dont know what to believe anymore

Six hours at 12000 feet would burn gas a lot more than at cruising altitude. Don’t know if they considered that. It’s possible the altitude was incorrect. It may have reported at 12000 feet when in actuality they may have been at cruising altitude.

Under 16000 feet you can breathe unassisted. The air is thin but you will live. Once did an under 10000 feet unpressurized flight across the Pacific to medevac a patient. It took five aerial (military aircraft) refuels. The aircraft in question could make the same trip without refueling. This shows how much more fuel you burn flying low.

Im seriously at the point that I just have no idea what to make of this plane and where the Malaysians are getting these numbers..remember first they said it went up to 45,000 feet..then down to 23,000 then up again to 35,000 then supposedly it went down as low as 5,000 feet..I have no clue where they are coming up with this information if there is no transponder how else are they getting this radar

It sounds like the same thing happened a few years ago off California. ATC was relying on transponder data and the data was wrong. That aircraft went in with all passengers except there was another aircraft in the vicinity that saw the whole thing.

They were getting overspeed and stall (too slow) warnings plus their altitude was showing good but they were actually in a dive. They ended up stalling the aircraft because they thought they were going too fast and crashed.

The info keeps changing daily. I’m half way expecting the Maylaysian government to announce the plane never took off.

Wooden pallets are often used to transport cargo on aircraft. The cargo compartments of wide body passenger airplanes use a conveyor system in the belly with locks spaced at precise intervals. These locks hold cargo containers called LD3’s or aluminum pallets called cookie sheets. Air freight that is too large to fit in an LD3 container is often on wooden pallets strapped to a cookie sheet. Google LD3 and aircraft cookie sheet. It is very likely this aircraft had wooden pallets onboard.

The news media doesn’t have access to Google? Amazing what a 3 second web search finds:

I know it sounds strange, wooden pallets on an airplane, but i see it all the time. Anything normally shipped on a wooden pallet by truck would be placed by forklift on an aircraft cookie sheet and loaded on a widebody aircraft. The ULD containers and cookie sheets are used on every large aircraft, they fit on Boeing 767, 777, 747, MD-11, DC-10, A300, 330, 340.

Couldn’t they just as easily plant something that looks like wreckage?

I have now seen the “aviation experts” on CNN change their “professional and expert analysis” half a dozen times in 16 days. People are seriously getting paid off this b.s. and it is ridiculous watching the histrionics of CNN around the clock with every piece of garbage found on satellite or floating in seaweed.

Shouldn’t take a genius to figure this out, they should look down at the darn debris and figure out what it is
