Back when I was a Marine in combat, if I had to die, I would have preferred it being while trying to save kids rather than while playing "footsie" with NVA or VC or the later Islamic whackos while one hand is tied behind my back, knowing that the American press & politicians would soon tire of the whole mess and walk away with the job unfinished.
