For some reason the software developer crowd is very liberal. I know of only a few conservatives in the crowd compared to the overwhelming liberal count.
It is all the social media, web designing hipsters not real software engineer types.

Because code is amoral; it attracts amoral people, and amorality — or, at least, the pretension to amorality — is a core tenet of the liberal faith.
