FRANKFORT, Ky. — Sen. Mitch McConnell's latest campaign video hit all the necessary Kentucky high points: horse racing, bluegrass — and Duke basketball?

The campaign was scrambling this morning to remove an online video that features a split-second clip of Duke basketball players celebrating their 2010 national championship.

The mistake comes as the basketball-crazy state of Kentucky prepares for the biggest game of the year. Kentucky and Louisville face off in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday night.

It appears that "Team Mitch can't get out of their own way...

They cannot run on McConnell's voting record or his record of leading the Republicans in the Senate, so they must resort to all kinds of alternative messaging...

McConnell has been in Washington so long he can't tell the difference between DUKE and the UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY...

Time for this old guy to retire so he can finally pay attention to what's going on in his home state...

Matt Bevin needs to beat this guy in the May 20th Kentucky Republican Primary - Let's all help him get the job done... http://mattbevin.com/bevin-brigade

This is what happens when you are in DC too long. You forget where you came from, disrespect and take for granted, who put you there.

Lifes a _itch, Mitch.

I still don’t understand how Bevin beats GRIMS(D) and Mitch doesn’t; but BEVIN is substantially behind in the GOP primary.

One of Bevin’s staff must be in stealth mode, controlling McConnell’s internets.

I am sure the GOP DC branch does the polling. They want Mitch to look inevitable.

In the Kentucky general election against Democrat Grimes Rasmussen has McConnell in a “toss up”, and others have McConnell down by 2pts or more against the Democrat...

Rasmussen has Bevin over Democrat Grimes by 4pts in the Kentucky general election...

The reason? Can you say INDEPENDENTS?

The Republican Primary is a closed Primary - Independents have no say in that Primary race... In the general, Independents have a huge influence and they don’t like McConnell!

This fact is why, not matter what McConnell’s campaign propaganda is, if we want to keep Kentucky our of the hands of the Democrats, we have to support Bevin to take down McConnell in the May 20th Primary...

If McConnell beats Bevin in the Republican Primary, we have a good chance of losing this Senate seat to a Democrat!

Here’s a way to help Bevin beat McConnell, whether you live in Kentucky or not... http://mattbevin.com/bevin-brigade

Heh, why didn’t it just show Laettner’s winning shot against UK in the 92 tournament while they were at it?

Exactly... McConnell and his band of merry mistrals are doing everything they can to try to make it appear that The Kentucky Republican Primary is over before the first vote is cast...

and

They are pushing the fallacy that McConnell deserves votes because “he has power”... give me a break.

McConnell only has the power of the office he holds, whether Senate Minority or Majority Leader. When he loses, then he loses the power he says he has or will have, and that power goes to the next guy who holds the office... What an arrogant elitist this guy is...

I’m telling you the grassroots in Kentucky (and in the seven surrounding states coming into Kentucky) are out in the thousands... Boots on the ground, walking precincts, outgoing calls (remote calls from out of state and in Bevin offices)...

Freedom Works has a huge Glenn Beck Event in Louisville on April 5th... and Tea Party/912/liberty group folks from across America are chipping in with small donations to Bevin...

Don’t believe what you see or hear in the press... This primary race is not a done deal...

Bevin has a solid shot at taking McConnell down...

If it was a Russian team, we would not be on this thread right now. The worst possible team they could have put in that ad was the team most hated by folks in Kentucky, and that is Duke.

Does their voter registration card say “Independent”? Indys should be allowed to vote in either Primary, Dem or Pubbie since there is no “Independent Primary”. There has GOT to be a way Independents can vote for Matt in the Primary if they so choose. Now, in Texas, you can choose which Primary to vote in. They then stamp your card showing that you voted in the Dem or Pubbie Primary so you cannot vote in the other Primary’s run-off election.

Is there absolutely no way, Indys can vote for Matt in the GOP Primary?
