Our dogs(A Pomeranian/Maltese mix and a Shih Tzu) didnt give us any warning of the quake a few weeks ago, not a peep, actually totally normal, when the quake hit they ran under the table LOL..some dogs will give you advance warning like jump on you and start barking, but that can be confused with “I gotta go outside and do my business” so sometimes its hard to tell
Why, of course, they aren't natives. Did you expect them to know the language?
I would not suggest you use them as hunting dogs either. If you expect a dog to give you a warning about an earthquake it has to be a breed native to earthquake regions like a Calispaniel or even a Snouzerfornia.
