NRA Board Member Tom King Laments Rhetoric At Pro-Gun Rallies

NY Daily News:

In my “Albany Insider” column today, I wrote how Tom King, the head of the state Rifle & Pistol Association, was critical of the increasingly angry and inflammatory rhetoric at pro-gun rallies. King said he fears that the ugliness that has popped up at the rallies is actually hurting the pro-gun cause. He also said it’s time to stop the rallies, arguing that they won’t result in a repeal of the SAFE Act. He wants to instead focus on trying to get the law struck down in the court …

I won’t post his silly letter, but I thought it would be appropriate to highlight this paragraph.

Fellow gun owners I submit this to you for your consideration. We will never convert the 22% rabid anti-gunners, we don’t have to convert the 32% avid pro gunners but we must convert a sizable portion of the 46% of those somewhere in between if we want to retain our 2nd Amendment Rights long term. These are the soccer moms, the guys who say I’ve never shot a gun but would like to try it and the people worried about their safety. How do we do that? Not by standing on stage screaming obscenities at Cuomo and certainly at large rallies where people stand on stage, pound their chest and tell the attendees to prepare for war. That frightens the very people we want to attract to our side, the people who will insure (sic) 2nd Amendment Rights for our grandchildren.

As a sidebar comment, the people he wants to attract will not insure (sic) 2nd amendment rights for our grandchildren. But second, this letter is as emblematic of everything that’s wrong with the NRA as I’ve ever seen. It’s the perfect example of how not to think about our

The left always counts on conservatives being well behaved law abiding citizens, to play by the rules, to be polite, pick up our own trash, and not jaywalk on the way home.

Meanwhile, the liberals break every law and rule they find inconvenient. They lie, cheat, steal and trash everyone and everything that gets in their way.

That has given the liberals win after win after win.

Maybe it is time to stand up to the liberals and stop treating them with kid gloves. Hiding our anger and being polite has gotten us nowhere.

This seems to be a guy who thinks the 2nd amendment is all about hunting and self protection.

The NRA are a bunch of in-fighting, lobbyists, bureaucrats and fundraisers. The underlying cause is good, but they accomplish very little in the legislative arena. Gun Owners of America is the real A-2 grassroots group who know what they are doing.

I think the guy should grow a pair! Or maybe he just needs to untwist his panties. What’s with these buffoons? With the GOP it’s we need to be more like demonrats so people will vote for us, we need to be submissive and meek so we don’t upset the rabid anti 2nd Amendment cretins. HELLO, Rabid Cretins, it doesn’t matter how you address them. And HELLO, if you’re going to act like a friggin demonrat then what the heck is the difference?

All wars are won by a combinations of hundreds of different strategies.

The strategy of “ standing on stage screaming obscenities at Cuomo and certainly at large rallies where people stand on stage, pound their chest and tell the attendees to prepare for war.” is a valid one.

He can go climb under his desk and shiver. I’m not sure that’s as effective, but that’s what he should do.

False-flag psyops?

I’d guess the extremist rhetoric was either supplied or fomented by anti-gun types, attending the rallies under false pretense.

They may even be paid by someone, like the obvious leftist trolls on Internet sites.

John Hancock said in 1776:

“When the bloody Standard of Tyranny is erected in
a land of Liberty, NO GOOD MAN, NO FRIEND OF HIS COUNTRY CAN POSSIBLY REMAIN AN INACTIVE SPECTATOR”

Sept 24, 1776 Philadelphia
John Hancock:
“When the bloody Standard of Tyranny is erected in
a land of Liberty, no good man, no Friend of his Country
can possibly remain an inactive Spectator of her Fall.
Display, therefore, I most earnestly entreat you that Virtue which alone can have her on this occasion! Let us convince our enemies that as we entered into the present contest for the Defence of our Liberties so we are resolved with the firmest Reliance on Heaven for the Justice of our Cause never to relinquish it but rather perish in the ruins of it.
If we do but remain firm, if we are undismayed at the little Shocks of Fortune and are determined at all hazards that we will be free!
I am persuaded under the gracious smiles of Providence assisted by our most strenuous endeavours,
we shall finally succeed agreeably to our wishes and thereby establish the Independence the Happiness and the glory of the United States of America”.

While we worry about Marquess of Queensberry rules, the left rolls right over us time and time again.
