Shelter in place is SOP with an active shooter. Security will go after anyone moving around. On military bases they will shoot first and sort things out later
I understand the challenge here.
I also understand the “mindset” of “Security” and the media in their efforts to make people feel helpless without them. Not only the folks in the area, but virtually everyone watching this live.
They actually seem to be doing a decent job - not throwing a bunch of crap out.
5:35 p.m.: Fort Hood officials released this statement: “There has been a shooting at Fort Hood and injuries are reported. Emergency crews are on the scene. No further details are known at this time.”
You are helpless without a weapon. If you do have a weapon then you can get shot by security so you are screwed either way.
