No, it isn’t a lie, as Rand Paul kicks off his presidential campaign, he came out with a statement calling for an end to the marriage fight, and on social issues, in other words, to change the GOP platform and politics in a move to the left.

“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues.”

this ansel has a very polarized view of things. if you don’t oppose something in the exact manner it does, then you must be for that something. i gotta laugh.

i say (and so would Paul) that if we have a gummit big enough to force “gay marriage” then it is too damned big!

Paul: For GOP to Grow, It Must ‘Agree to Disagree on Social Issues’ Like Gay ‘Marriage’

Rand Paul is attempting to walk a reed-thin path of "personally opposed but we've got to be open-minded" on the subject of gay marriage. From the article ...

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a potential presidential contender in 2016, said that for the Republican Party to grow and recruit more young people, it must “agree to disagree on social issues,” specifically homosexual “marriage.”

Paul also said he was happy with his endorsement of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in the Kentucky GOP senatorial primary, adding that McConnell “is a good conservative.”

Paul made his remarks, as published on Mar. 14, in an interview with Vocativ.com, which was carried by GoPride.com, a portal for LGBT news and networking.

He made these comments for the GoPride audience. These are all losing positions for conservatism.

GOPride, I presume. I wish “Pride” would go (away). But at any rate it has no right to be riding on the government. Which is how it has wormed its way into the tent.

So what might take the place of “marriage” in government recognized statuses? Well why not households? That was also suggested by Pope Francis. Why should the “gays” have all the fun. Why can’t chaste people?

And I believe that as clearly in keeping with libertarianism ... but to do it in an interview with Vocativ.com, which was carried by GoPride.com, a portal for LGBT news and networking.

                                                      SRSLY?!

OK, I thought it meant GOP Pride.

It’s odious, and it’s shameful.

It’s also hijacked government.

Did government NEED to be in the marriage biz? It looks like if it insists, it is going to soak up all of our fight in keeping the “gays” out of it. Rotsa ruck, with 17 states punked so far. Is that a wise use of resources?

You need to learn to address freepers directly, rather than get on thread to stalk, and to post behind their backs in an effort to create groups of warring personalities based on your personal vendettas rather than political discussions.

Anyone who refuses to outlaw gay marriage in the military, in federal employment and immigration, should not be pretending to oppose it, as you do.

Let’s fight gay marriage, not support it.

you got to remember that Paul wants gummit out of the marriage business.

That is a fake position, a way for Paul to support gay marriage, while appearing to oppose it on some theoretical, but unattainable (and stupid) higher plain.

It shows an extraordinary level of ignorance for a man running for federal office and to command the military, federal employees and immigration, where gay marriage is legal.

Is it that he is that stupid? Or that dishonest, and thinks that voters are stupid enough to fall for that shallow evasion?

That isn’t fake, it’s real.

I’m sure you’d love to think that strong fleshly politics can push the “gay” tide back while keeping this damned bloated government otherwise the same. You’ve made that clear over and over again.

How about denying it a platform to exploit?

Does he have any reservations, or relatives on reservations?

That still doesn't provide Sarah with any unnecessary reservations, does it???

Politics is the art of the possible, not the art of the daydream.

Exactly, a presidential candidate leading a political party devoted to protecting marriage, can change things.

Pretending to have a daydream political position of ending legal marriage, is a cynical and fake, daydream, a way for a crook to escape fighting for marriage.

A dishonest presidential candidate (or freeper), refusing to even discuss outlawing gay marriage in immigration and the military, but thinking of something as goofy as ending marriage in America, by claiming that the voters will suddenly vote to just end all marriage laws and legal definitions is using fantasy to fight for gay marriage.

Reason number one that it is fake, is because you can already “marry” without government, and always could.

When Rand decides to cut off the border and cut the benefits to illegals and doesn’t think social issues should be ignored maybe we can talk. Amnesty will bankrupt this country and not just economically.
