I wish we still had a thriving textile industry in the US. No sheets, no towels. Fabrics generally come from Asia, India, & Italy.

Some of the thickest, most durable towels ever made were Dundee. Once upon a time, Fieldcrest was no slouch.
Bring them back!

I’m surprised that ‘Timeshare Salesperson’ hadn’t won over ‘Tour Guides’ in HI.

Farmworkers are the biggest category in California. Lots of laborers are needed in agriculture. People don’t often realize that California is a major farm state.

In a number of states the jobs give a pretty go idea of what industry our government is attacking.

Bring them back!

If you're young and energetic, give it a go! Despite the onus of the progressive onslaught, America can still be a land of opportunity.

Hardly a day goes by that I don’t get some type of a survey here in Pennsylvania. Could be a function of being in supply chain management.

That’s because the time shares are sold at other locations for HI. My mom used to sell them for a company in MO that had timeshares in Mexico, HI, FL, MO, etc.

“Bring them back!”

The colonies literally stole the textile industry from England. There was a ready, eager and above all cheap labor force. Textiles have always followed the path of cheapest labor. When I was a kid I had two pairs of underwear, socks and pants. (Mom made my shirts.) As I recall underwear was $5 a pair in the late ‘60’s. That was due to union labor. (I may be off on the exact amount, but I recall gulping at the price.) Now, its several pairs for a few bucks.

The only garment trade flourishing here appears to be the printed t-shirt business.

No, the government can’t impose tariffs on imported goods because of the GATT, global agreement on trade and tariffs. If they do then our trading partners impose a tariff on goods we produce and ship there.

Floridians are much more likely to be motorboat operators than are other Americans.

Two mistakes I can see. Washington state should be "flag burners" and Missouri should be "meth dealers"........

Timeshare salespeople...

If there is a scuzzier line of work than that, I don't want to know about it.

***Missouri should be “meth dealers”***

And Arkansas? Food Processing workers? Oh come now! We all know that Food processing workers here would rather be MAKING METH for the dealers in Missouri!
