Huckabee is being set up as the ‘religious conservative’ to split the conservative vote again.
I’m not a Huckabee supporter. He is not one of my preferred choices, as my posts will back up. However, his standing in the polls should be a signal of the importance of social conservatives in the nominating process. We need someone who is friendly to social conservatives. I hope that Huckabee is not that person, but we still need to value the views of social conservatives. It would be good to have someone like Cruz, Palin, Santorum, or Pence...perhaps even Jindal. We need to understand that a social moderate or liberal will not suffice. Rand Paul’s supporters also need to understand that Paul’s distancing himself from social conservatives is a dead end road.
Huckaphony is toast.

Don’t let the news media force a candidate on you! Huckabee has too much baggage, namely the deaths of police officers in Washington State due to him freeing a prisoner in Arkansas.

He just sincerely believes that his "goodness" will prevail. Yuck.
I should have added that Santorum is the same. Double-yuck.
