There a couple of reasons to post to Front Page:
(1) Durbin the Turbin is up for re-election
(2) Many people have cried for the Catholic Church to do this.
Since the Bishop has ruled as he has ruled, the Vatican will take no action -- no matter what...

GOOD!
It is long overdue for the Church to stop speaking with forked tongue ... opposing abortion while continuing to permit all of the wildest, most notorious, anti-life political baby killers to receive the holy Eucharist in an apparently unrepentant status
can’t have it both ways, Fathers....

Now, excommunicate the heretic.
After that would be Pelosi.

What if anything did Durbin say when denied communion? My best guess would be,”Don’t you know who I am?”

The article says it’s been in effect for several years and this bishop is just upholding his predecessor’s ruling. This needs more publicity!

The reason the Bishops are taking the gloves off now is because the politicians did with Obamacare. Obama and the democrats are forcing thousands of Catholic hospitals, schools, business owners to provide abortions and contraceptives and are putting Catholic hospitals out of business financially because of Obamacare. In the past the Church was not affected directly and was only threatened with such action. Now that the politicians are attacking the Church directly does the Church finally see the light and take the gloves off as well. Finally the Church follows the way of the cross. May we gladly suffer for Christ and with joy proclaim the Gospel and let God do our fighting for us. Amen.

YES!!!
The Bishop is a great guy! I’ve played hockey with him numerous times (he plays goalie).
He’s the real deal.
Now, what we need is for this to get broadcast out on the evening news feeds everywhere!

RE: Illinois bishop upholds priests decision to deny Communion to pro-abort Sen. Dick Durbin
Will the California Bishop do the same to Nancy Pelosi?
Will the NY Bishop do the same to Andrew Cuomo?

It’s about time. It would be nice if Cardinal Dolan grew a pair.

The trouble with this is....they are rarely in their home states to begin with, so they’ll continue to go to Mass in the DC area where they WON’T be denied communion. I’m glad they’re finally doing this, even though it’s mainly a symbolic gesture.
