Report: Lawsuit alleges Rockets players harassed gay catering worker

A food catering worker in Brooklyn alleges in a lawsuit that Houston Rockets players heaved anti-gay insults his way while setting up a buffet in the team's locker room last season at Barclays Center, the Daily News reported Tuesday.

The lawsuit, filed in Brooklyn Federal Court, alleges 28-year-old Rasean Tate heard these comments while his back was turned: "Get this f***** out of here!" and "He's trying to catch a sneaky peeky!"

Having a male homosexual in the men's locker room is no different than a straight man being in a woman's locker room.

Being offended is not a crime.

When first noted, “sexual harassment” required an employment relationship: supervisor/supervisee. Someone over whom the aggressor held some “power”. When did that change? This instance may have shown bad manners (though I would probably have said much worse), but how does this constitute “harassment”?

Having spent a lot of time in locker rooms, I can say, guys are gonna bust your butt for whatever reason they can use - just part of the culture. If the guy couldn’t find a clever retort, he shoulda just ignored them. Years ago, when female reporters were first allowed in locker rooms, NY Jet Mark Gastineau pranced around naked, and waved his male member at a female reporter (Diane Shah, I think it was), asking “Do you know what this is?” “Yes, it looks like a penis, except smaller”, she replied. Gasteneau retreated to the shower, humiliated, while every guy in the room laughed their butts off.
