“The homosexuals are some mean, evil and wicked people.”

I’ve met homosexuals who are generally nice, but I agree that some homosexuals are mean. That probably applies to all sorts of people, not just homosexuals. As for evil and wicked, so am I and everyone else. My sins were different, but I’m hardly worthy of heaven in my own right. That’s why anyone who wants to be good in God’s eyes has to rely on Christ’s own goodness by repenting and asking Him to intercede on our behalf.

In my opinion, homosexuals have a terrible temptation and deserve our mercy so long as they aren’t harming us by doing things like getting people fired for believing in real marriage or attempting to subvert/pervert our children. That’s doesn’t mean we should be silent in the face of their sin, but I do think we should be sympathetic to their plight.

BTW, I agree there’s a gay mafia of sorts, and we should resist them just like we should resist any group that attempts to harm the civil society and our right to live and believe what we want in peace. However, I think I understand why a gay mafia is inevitable.

They see it like the next, great civil rights battle. As a society, we don’t tolerate people who say anything bad about blacks. We even set certain words, like the “N” word, off limits, and we task government to exterminate discrimination while discriminating in favor of blacks (strange, eh?). Nevertheless, if one thinks homosexuals are like blacks—another oppressed minority—one will inevitably wage war on the “bigots and haters” who keep homosexuals down.

I don’t agree with the comparison of course, but this is also why homosexuals generally try to claim they are born that way. If it’s a choice, then they cannot possibly claim they are like blacks.

Wonderful post. Yes, we all have temptations, and we all fall short. Yours is the best post that I have read in this whole controversy.

Love your enemy.

Once we become God’s children, that is who we are, our primary identification. What temptation is hardest for us to resist is not how people should be identified.

Wonderful post.
