I just don’t see how we turn this around short of re-taking the school systems. I don’t see that happening short of re-taking the education departments in the colleges. And, unlike the nice people who staffed these positions 75 years ago, the leftists are very unwilling to allow in those who have unorthodox beliefs.

We didn't get into this situation overnight, and I doubt we'll get out of it that way. However, consider that many fine conservatives are being retired early due to the economy. Some of them go on to teach for 5-10 years before finally retiring. There are alternate paths to teaching certification in many states (if not all), and private schools can hire teachers with real-world experience who lack state certification. That is one very real way to bring traditional values and practical experience into the classroom.

When I look around at my colleagues in our school, many of them are in second careers or have two jobs going. They are teaching much more than the standard curriculum, and they are not raging lefties either. We impart values to young people in many ways through example, volunteer work, mentoring, and formal teaching.
