My prayers go up to the Fort Hood victims and their families. And, yes I can believe it, given he flew to LV for a fund raiser the morning after Benghazi.
On a related note, most of you have probably heard that there was a devasting mudslide in the town of Oso in Western WA (a.k.a. the “other Washington”) a few weeks ago. It was a huge slide - approx 1 mile square and mud was up to 60-70 feet deep in some places. It took out 30-40 homes and everything in or near them, a main road, and the death count is 36 so far (still 10 unaccounted for - - they’re still searching).
A couple of the local radio hosts mentioned last week that the Prez should come; and, if a petition was started on the WH website and it received 100k votes, he’d have to come or explain why he wasn’t coming. These are not conservative hosts by any means, and one of them said that while he was going to Oso, he could swing through his “ATM” in Medina as that’s all he does is go to fund-raisers when he’s in Seattle. Medina is a very influential area near Bellevue on the eastside of the Seattle area (across Lake Washington from the city of Seattle).
Someone apparently did start a petition on the WH site, but not sure how many signatures it got. Found out earlier this week that Obama plans to come here on Apr 22 or so. The Director of Fema and Sec of HS or some big offical from Homeland Security were here last weekend and they said they couldn’t believe the devastation, other rescuers, etc. said they’ve never seen anything so bad. The radio host said he thought they probably called Obama and told him he had to come out here. Like he said, if this were on the east coast, the news would be all over it; however, since it happened in the Pacific NW, news faded quickly. He’ll probably swing through Medina while he’s here seeing Oso and have another fund-raising trip paid for by the taxpayers.

Who’s still doing “progressive” talk around here now that AM 1090 went to sports? I can’t imagine anybody else actually wanting Zero poking around up in Oso. He and his fuster-cluck entourage will set the recovery efforts back weeks.
