We saw Winchester perform a couple of years ago. He opened for another act. I really enjoyed his show.

BTW, I don’t hold his conscience against him.

Winchester was respected by a local boy here and that carries a lot of weight. Mac McAnnaly recorded a great many of his songs and performed them. I don't blame Winchester for leaving Memphis as it had become a hell hole, even in the 1960's.

I don't agree with his draft dodging but could not ignore his talent. May he RIP without pain as bladder cancer is a painful way to go.
