There should be a congressional investigation of the uniformed armed thugs that were sent in to intimidate and quell the ranchers and their supporters....and even to kill them "if necessary".

WHERE DID THE LAND MANAGEMENT BUREAU GET THESE ARMED MERCENARIES....or does it have its OWN army?

The affiliations and backgrounds of EACH mercenary should be investigated. Were any of them "on loan" from any branch of our armed services? Were they "on loan" from private security firms or police departments from around the state....or perhaps Homeland Security thugs from out of state? Who were their "commanders" on the Bundy site and what are their backgrounds?

I'll bet such an investigation would unearth scads of unholy alliances....and most certainly illegal ones also.

Oh Goody, when we take over in 2016 the NSA recordings of Reid and the Chinese should make for some interesting reading.

SueRae:" And they expose more of their ‘armory’ and tactics, i.e., cutting off cell towers, etc."

Mass of force with 200 agents from out of area (not identifiable locals)
Force including agents armed with sniper rifles and scopes ( for intimidation factor)
Eliminate cell phone towers ( control the mass public information / control communication)
Control the (cattle) hostages by removal elsewhere ( create geographical division of rebelious resources)
Create "no fly zone " in the area (elimination of current crisis information to the general news media)
Bureau of Land Management shreds website of information regarding proposed land usage (protect Reid /ChiComm energy program)
Bureau Land Management to return to the courts with unlimited Federal funds for further litigation after the elections.
Those are some interesting tactics employed by BLM

Great list of take away lessons form this encounter.

Few or none. Mostly they went crapping their pants that they didn’t want to die over cows. Of course this has little to do with cows.

Eric in the Ozarks:" Turns out this Nevada family had friends."

I recall seeing someone post yesterday that they lived about 150 miles away, and they may similarly expect a visit from the Feds.
Some of the folks and nieghbors who showed up know that they are 'next' in the " land grab" .
Expect further actions after the elections, after all , the ChiComms have already invested in Dingy, and want something in return for their money.

If the BLM were enforcing a court order as they claimed to remove trespassing cattle by order of a Federal judge, the U.S. Marshall’s Service would have been the primary enforcement arm and Bundy would have been officially served with cease and decist order by a Marshal before the BLM round up began. The Federal courts are pretty consistent with their actions.

US Military Spec Ops. Very SOP of their mannerisms and speech patterns.

That may have actually helped to defuse the situation. People with that kind of military experience know that once there are a significant number of armed people on both sides of a dispute, engaged in a close range stand-off, if violence erupts it is nearly impossible to know the final outcome. But you do know there will be casualties on both sides.

Military missions, particularly those of special forces troops are meticulously planned to provide the SF team with every advantage possible. Those people, more than many others, know how badly things can go when there is no plan, just a bunch of people shooting at each other.

Even a poorly trained group of irregulars can cause major damage, or even defeat a more organized force when the battle is unexpected. Ask anyone who survived an ambush in Vietnam.

The genius of the founders exists on many levels. Armed citizens, by their mere presence, can deter violence and the unwarranted use of force.

good points. I have talked to several people that were at the cattle gates, it was very tense at one point.

“More like the safety of harry reid and the democrats in the mid term”

This whole incident turned up a LOT more dirt for my book on Reid. The updates I’m working on will be a doozy!

The Alex Jones live on the scene reporter stressed several times that the folks there were told to leave or they would be shot.

They wouldn’t and didn’t leave.

Las Vegas Police Lt. Dan Zehnder said the showdown was resolved with no injuries and no violence.

Doesn’t anyone find it odd that this supposed Federal court action was not carried out by Federal Marshals. They are the courts enforcement arm. Not the BLM. Me thinks this was a bluff by BLM and not a Legal Order.

Clark County where Vegas is an integrated metro force. They all work for the Sheriff.

freeandfreezing:" Armed citizens, by their mere presence, can deter violence and the unwarranted use of force."

While I agree that an "armed society is a polite society" ,
I can't help but wonder what if the Feds were met with an equal number of armed citizens .
In this instance , the resistance outnumbered the Feds.
If the numbers were equal sized forces , would the Fed have backed down ?
If Dingy Harry's involvement hadn't been noted by the media ,what then might the outcome have been ?
At the end of the day ,the matter will return to the courts , and the FED using unlimited tax monies will eventually overwhelm Bundy
as has already happened to his neighbors .
The use of 'Special Ops' does bring up some interesting issues as to authorization , expenses ,command and control , and leadership/accoutability .

Even the BLM would of “arrested” the citizens. Shoot out would of been a massacre for all involved.

This isn't about cows.

“”Republican Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval....criticized the agency for creating “an atmosphere of intimidation” and trying to confine protesters to a fenced-in “First Amendment area” well away from the sprawling roundup area.””

If that asshat had had any balls, he’d have gone to Bunkerville and stood with the Bundys. Same for the “Clark County Sheriff.” Watched the piece on FNC last evening that covered another rancher abuse in Nye County, NV. The sheriff there, actually told the BLM if they attempted a “cattle taking” there without a warrant, that his men would be there to defend the rancher and his property.
