Obviously, some of these guys were more than happy to play the “Big bad FED” but I really wonder what a lot of them were thinking. They left the scene abruptly. Could it be that a lot of them let be known they didn’t want any part of it? Let’s not assume they were all onboard. Yeah, they showed up but did a lot of them look around and say, “Bull sh$t”?
They were all gung ho when they thought they outnumbered the embattled ranchers. But when the tide shifted by 20 to 1 to the other side, they literally tucked their tails and ran.
