Save some concern for those who pretend to be on your side while talking up violent or illegal acts. Agents provocateur seem to be the State’s go-to play for creating “arrestable moments” and discrediting opponents of totalitarianism.
Those are pretty easy to spot. Eventually you get to the point where it’s like the stings at high schools for drugs with one informant trying to set up another because those are the only ones who will talk to each other.
Please be careful of those whose first course of action is illegal, violent, or whose statements can be spun badly in the news.
While we all passionately support our Constitution and the Rights it was intended to guarantee, a calm, deliberate, and reasoned demeanor is what the public needs to see. Otherwise, all will be branded crackpots.
Be careful of those who go out of their way to publicly tread on the usual 'protected' groups, too, as the discussion can quickly shift to other topics in the media, who will use the worst quotes and images taken out of context to paint everyone assembled in the worst possible light.
