Used to work with a guy who had a doctorate in German History. Said he liked to visit any pub in Germany, and buy drinks for 1 or more of the locals. As they drank, their opinions of Hitler changed from “He’s a monster who should never have been in power” to “But, you know, he did do some good things” to “By G—, we need a man like Hitler again!” And this while looking at him in a wheelchair. (Hitler also exterminated the handicapped or deformed.)
Even more amusing is the silly belief that nothing like that can happen here simply because....it can’t.
