Been watching this thing closely and have yet to hear why the LVPD is involved.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is responsible for law enforcement in all of Clark County in Nevada from the tourist traps and the city out into the desert.
Before the 1970’s there was a separate Las Vegas City PD and Clark County Sheriff’s Department.

I pointed out last night that the FBI and the US Marshals are glaringly absent from this scenario. Highly unusual in a Federal operation.
IMO what we are about to see and have been seeing is the first major test operation of the civililan national defense force (BLM) and the militarized local police. (LVPD SWAT)
