Being a leftist, you must demonize and seek to destroy personally the opposition because that is the only way to win.

It’s part of the leftist assumptive worldview that they, their policies, and their intentions are moral and anyone who opposes them, therefore, is immoral and not worthy of conducting discourse with.

In a way, this insulates them from having to discuss the merits of their positions and avoid the negative consequences of their policies.

When I was growing up my parents were hard Democrats. Most of the literature I read growing up was of a liberal slant which painted most conservatives as not much different than fiends from Hell. Barry Goldwater was depicted as a man who couldn't wait to start WWIII. The lib propaganda was awful even in those days.

As I got older I was surprised to find people who were very nice and identified as Republicans. I thought to myself that these people can't be Republicans. All Republicans were terrible people who wanted to oppress minorities and rob the poor. Or so I had been told by Big Lib Media.
